Santa to visit the Etchingham Community stores


Father Christmas

The Etchingham Community Stores

Christmas Eve

11am to 1pm


Father Christmas will be in his Grotto at the shop again on Christmas Eve, all children visiting will get a present and have their photograph taken with Santa.



All the mums and dads will not be left out, Mince pies and Mulled Wine will be on offer for them.



The Brownies will be outside the shop singing carols in aid of charity.

Etchingham & Fontridge Cricket Club - Players Presentation Night

Players Presentation Night at the Social Club on Saturday, 22nd November 7.30pm presentations will be at 8.30pm.

This is the evening when all the players receive their cups and trophies for their achievements on the Cricket Pitch during the Summer.

Parish Council Meetings

The Parish Council meets in the Village Hall Annexe on the third Tuesday of every month, with the exception of August and December.

Meeting start at 7.30pm, a ten minute slot is allocated at every meeting for public questions.

All residents are entitled to attend ALL Parish Council meetings.

Village Bonfire and Fireworks


Etchingham Bonfire and Fireworks

The annual Bonfire and Fireworks is to be held on Saturday 8th November 2008.

If you enjoy this event, you might like to help with some of the preperation and clearing up.

Help is needed on these days........

Saturday 1st November
Help needed to collect firewood - starting at 9.30am

Saturday 8th November
Help needed to prepare the field - starting at 9.30am

Sunday 9th November
Help needed to clear the field

Sunday 15th November
Help needed to clear remains of fire and make sure field is clear and safe

If you can help on any of these days, or have suitable wood to contribute to the bonfire, contact Helen Brophy on 819206

Traffic speeds and parking in the High Street

Recently there have been an increasing number of complaints regarding the number of cars parked in the High Street all day, mainly by commuters using the railway station.

Traffic speed through the village has been a perennial problem.
